My parents were from completely different worlds, for me this has been both a blessing and a curse.
Father was landed gentry, despised by his own mother, she never, it seemed forgave him for the 3 days of
labour she had to endure.  Spoilt unbelievably by his own father, presumably making up for his mothers
short comings.  At great expense he was privately schooled, expelled, and left school unable to read or write.
Fine period houses were bought and sold, sports cars came and went, his relationship with his mother never
healed.
Mother's mother scrubbed her own door step, her house on the street of a large bustling village, a dwelling place of
two up, two down, the loo was at the bottom of the garden.
My mum was a smart cookie, grammar school educated, feisty, dynamic and hard working, able to make a
silk purse from a sows ear!
Her biggest downfall was her love for my father.
